Sweet pepper is a kind of chilli. Just only taste makes it different from
other spicy chilli. Sweet pepper is true sweet like its name but sometimes
sharply sweet. Especially, it contains various of excellent vitamins.
Sweet pepper is a member of Capsicum family.
It was first originated in Mexico and the neighboring areas
of Central America. Soon after Columbus' discovery of this plant,
it was spread and grown worldwide as a spice and medicine.
The sweet pepper was popular in Spain and was referred to as "pimientos" to
describe the red coloration and sweet taste. Today, pepper plants can be found
growing wild in tropical areas around the world.
Green peppers are unripe version of the red or yellow peppers.
They are all very generous in vitamin C, but the more mature red
ones are much higher in beta carotene.

Due to a rich source of vitamin C , sweet pepper can be an anti-oxidant. So,
having this vegetable keep you away from asthma. In additon, Vitimin C
appearing in sweet pepper also help to reduce the risk of
being scurvy and bruise.
Protection against Emphysema
Bell pepper is full of vitamin A, so it may save people life .
Especially to whom are addicted to cigarette. Recently, Richard
Baybutt, the researchers of Kansas State University studied the
relationship between vitamin A, lung inflammation, and emphysema.
Baybutt started by separate rats into two groups. The first kept in cigarette
smoke area and fed them with vitamin A. The other one kept in cigarette
smoke area without fed vitamin A. His work had shown that rats fed with
vitamin A can greatly reduce emphysema . So, don't be astonish if there are
a lot of people who live to be 90 years old and are smoker.

Beta carotene is not a substance only found in carot or pumkin but also in bell pepper.
This will help to reduce the risk of several cancers such as lung cancer,
prostate cancer and endometrial cancer

also help to lower the level of cholesterol in your blood and against the free redical.
