- Wash your hands frequently. This is often your best defense. Be sure to use soap and warm running water to wash germs off the hands. Don't forget to clean under fingernails. Wash for about 10 seconds.

- To avoid spreading of germs,never share cups.
- It is better to blow your nose on tissue and throw it away. It is important to get rid of the nasal mucous. The reason why we have to throw it away immediately is if you leave it on a counter desk or chair, it becomes a source of cold virus.
- Avoid putting your hands near your eyes, nose or mouth, unless you have washed. These are where germs can be passed. Be sure to to help everyone in your household understand how germs can be spread in this way.
- Toys are risk to carry germs, so you should often to clean them. To kill bacteria and viruses, wash them in warm soapy water .
- When you have got a cold , make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. You need water to function efficiently. An efficient body can fight off disease better.
- Try not to smoke. It can irritate your nose and lungs. It's a good idea to make your home a free-smoke place.
- Think of food! Eat more healthy and energizing food. Your body always needs energy but when you are sick, a lot of your bodies energy is devoted to your immune system. Eating regularly can give you the energy your body needs. If you are an active person, just remember it is crucial to replace the energy used during this time.
- If it is possible, try not to cover your mouth with hands while sneezing. It will be better to sneeze into a tissue that can be thrown away.
- Germs may remain on door knobs, handrails, light switches, telephones, remote controls, and counter tops, try to wipe them off by using disinfectant as often as possible.
