When we are talking about healthy drink, "green tea",
a cultural icon in China, Japan , Korea and the Middle
East is the second most popular drink now. Recently it has
become more widespread in the West , where traditionally
black tea is consumed.
Scientific team in both of Asia and West are providing evidence to
show how people get healthy while drinking green tea. It can reduce the
risks of esophageal cancer by as much as 60%. The study found that certain
compounds found in green tea tended to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
As a side benefit, green tea was also shown to reduce total cholesterol
levels and increase the ratio of HDL (good) cholesterol to LDL (bad)
cholesterol. Besides these, there are also polyphenols in green tea and
they are often collectively referred to as catechins, the powerful antioxidants,
have been presented in recent studies to fight viruses, anti- aging, and
have an advantageous effect on health.
The possible side effect of green tea.
Well, there is bad news that green tea contains caffeine and tannin.
These may cause of bad symptom to your body if you have too much of green
tea. There are 10-50 milligrams (6 ounce) of caffein in a cup of green tea.
After brewing for 3 minutes, the exciting result is that there are 30-60
milligrams of green tea per a cup, which is too much ratio for people.
Caffein is a stimulant of the central nervous system, and may cause
insomnia in adults, children, and infants (including nursing infants of
mothers taking caffeine). Caffeine also acts on the kidneys as a diuretic
(increasing urine and urine sodium/potassium levels, and potentially
decreasing blood sodium/potassium levels), and may worsen urge
incontinence. So, green tea is not good for children and coronary
heart disease.
Tannin is good to combat diarrhea . However,
this can cause of constipation if you have too much gree
tea or tannin-containing beverage.
