Besides “The Land of Smile” , Thailand is also
known as “The Land of Flowers”. Various popular flowers sold in
global market exported from Thailand such as orchids, Flmingo flower,
and Siam Tulip.
Siam Tulip is a tropical plant native to northeastern Thailand
and Cambodia. Despite its name, it is not related to the tulip but
is a member of the ginger genera - Curcuma or Zingiberaceae. The
other local names are “Krachiao”, “Patumma”, “Bua Bok” and
“Bua Sawan”.
One of the most famous wild fields of Siam Tulips is in the Pa
Hin Ngam National Park in the Chaiyaphum province of Thailand. The
bloom season of the flowers are from May to August where Tourism
Authority of Thailand organise annual festival known as “Krachiao
Flower Festival”.

For the year 2005, the Festival will
be held from May 1 until July 31. In addition, there are many activities
all visitors can do such as car and moutain bike rally, marathon
and other adventure games.
It would be better to go on workday than weekend because it will not be crowded. Due to all flowers bloom early to greet the first sunshine, it is excellent time to watch them. You will find an unforgettable scene. Admiring millions of Krachiao blossom along th area of 70,000 rais among purely natural surroundings. How wonderful vacation!
How to get there?
There are many ways to get there; by car, by bus and by train. If you would like to retrospect, it would be better to go by train. By this way, you can go by yourself or buying package tour provided by State Railway of Thailand. The price is 900 Baht which include the second round trip ticket with 3 meals, life insurance and guide. The booking is available at all Thai railway stations.
